Senior Services

SCSEP is the acronym for the Senior Community Service Employment Program. SCSEP is a program operated by the U.S. Department of Labor that serves individuals with low incomes who are 55 and over and have limited employment prospects. Eligible individuals are placed in part-time community service assignments in not for profit organizations or governmental entities with a goal of transitioning to unsubsidized employment.

The Older Worker Program (SCSEP) seeks to:

  • To foster and promote useful part-time opportunities in community service activities for eligible individuals;
  • To foster individual economic self-sufficiency;
  • To increase the number of older persons who may enjoy the benefits of a regular job after participating in the SCSEP
