FloridaWorks has partnered with several community organizations including the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, North Florida Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Florida Institute for Workforce Innovation.

 

Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce has taken on the operational role of Business Services for Alachua County and North Florida Regional Chamber of Commerce for Bradford County.

 

The Business Services Team offers a variety of services including:

  • Online database of job seekers at no cost to you
  • Assist in writing job descriptions
  • Employee matching and pre-screening
  • Host job fairs
  • Verify work history
  • Personal attention for all your hiring needs

 

Florida has been designated as one of the top three states to offer the best employee training services.  Alachua and Bradford County employers, who need their employees to upgrade their skills or businesses seeking to expand and hire new workers, should contact their FloridaWorks business services representative about current funding opportunities.  The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has awarded the Gainesville Area with the 2009 Region of Excellence Award.  The partnerships between the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, Council for Economic Outreach, North Florida Regional Chamber of Commerce and FloridaWorks were recognized for taking an innovative industry approach to integrating multiple organizations that are committed to the economic well-being of Alachua and Bradford Counties.  More information on the award can be found by clicking here.
