  • TechQuest program empowers students
    TechQuest graduates were honored during graduation ceremonies for the Santa Fe College Ice House Entrepreneurship Program. TechQuest is a training seminar on technology and its evolving role in entrepreneurship development for high school students with a barrier to employment and/or education. Read more here.
  • FloridaWorks turns unemployed into employers
    FloridaWorks hosted a signing ceremony for one of its own. Gary Kinsey, CEO and Founder of North Florida Medical Solutions, signed a technology license with the University of Florida Office of Technology Licensing. Three of the four team members are 2011 graduates of the Startup Quest entrepreneurship training program funded by FloridaWorks. Read more here.

The Healthcare Biomanufacturing Occupational & Technology Training Program will provide local businesses and jobseekers with on-the-job training (OJT) opportunities. The program encourages employers to train and retain talent from our region by providing salary reimbursement for the training period. To learn more about this program,

Bradford County Incubator

Have a great idea? Turn it into a business at the Bradford County Incubator! FloridaWorks and Santa Fe College Center for Innovation and Economic Development are partnering to create a training program that gives participants the skills and knowledge required to create and grow a business and become self-employed. This program is available to residents of Alachua and Bradford counties.

Training and support are created around each participant's target business in a process-based approach. Training will consist of classroom education, workshops, and one-on-one coaching where participants will learn:

  • Small business management
  • Marketing 101
  • Basics of money management and accounting
  • Human resources management
  • Branding
  • Market Research

Green Ride Carpool

With gasoline prices so high, many people are feeling the financial strain of commuting. One way to reduce driving costs is to carpool. FloridaWorks is working with Alachua and Bradford counties to provide http://floridaworks.greenride.com, a web-based, ride-sharing match system to help people who live, work or study in Alachua or Bradford counties get where they need to go. There is no charge for this service. Carpooling is both economical and ecological – a great way to get to work or school. Flyer
